Who we are?
The
HCC is associated with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Hungary. The mission of the
Institute is
to familiarise the British people with Hungarian culture, to contribute
to the
positive image building of Hungary
while offering a valid and exciting experience of Hungarian classics
and
contemporary artistic productions.
What we do?
Dedicated
to enhancing knowledge and appreciation of Hungarian culture, the Hungarian Cultural Centre
organises and supports a wide spectrum of innovative programmes to
promote Hungarian
art and artists in the UK.
HCC’s ultimate goal is to bring attention to the great
achievements in
Hungarian art and culture while encouraging collaborations between
Hungarians
and Londoners.
We
would like to preserve traditional genres and nurture innovations that
reflect
our dynamic and diverse cultural heritage; we also give opportunity to
young
upcoming artists from Hungary
to present their work to the British audience. We believe that London as the
world centre of culture with
its energy, vibrancies and diversity is the best place to bring
different
cultures together.
We build cultural awareness and strong community connection through our
broad
range of programming and services. The areas we cover include music,
drama, visual
arts, design, film, literature, dance and anything within the creative
sector.
Our priorities
To
build long-lasting
relationships with arts organisations in the UK
- to collaborate with artists and organisations from Hungary
and The United Kingdom, thereby
generating partnerships and links that will long outlast a single
exhibition,
performance or festival. |
